D23 - Consolidated Evaluation Report for the Pilot Testing Programme
The D23 – Consolidated Evaluation Report for the Pilot Testing Programme is summarizing the results from the seven pilot testing programmes which took place in each participating country. The pilot testing of the SCIENT Training Programme implemented with great success in Cyprus, Malta, Lithuania, UK, Portugal, Italy and Spain. Participants had the opportunity to follow a 40hrs in-class training which was followed by a mentoring and coaching activity and by an internship at local and EU level.
During the in-class training, the participants had the opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship, how to build their own team, how to develop their business idea and test its traction. Furthermore, participants learnt how to utilise the Business Model Canvas, the ‘lean business plan’, important pitching approaches, the IPR issues, the open innovation, and the development of soft/leadership skills. During the theoretical part of the training, a number of guest speakers were invited to share their experience with the participants and a number of visits took place at local businesses. The mentoring and coaching sessions were a great opportunity for the participants to discuss their business ideas further, to explore the growth opportunities of their idea and got down to hands-on exercises to fine-tune their entrepreneurial and marketing skills.
The participants expressed their enthusiasm and gratitude for the opportunity offered to them in discovering a new world and they acknowledged that this whole exercise has opened new career paths and has helped them in developing a different mindset.
